Yard work

Today I mowed the lawn! ... I KNOW! Its the first time since we have the new grass. It was getting so long and Big J never has time to mow so I decided today was the day.

It started when I just wanted to go pick up Cheyenne's "presents" but it was hard to pick them up when the grass is about a foot tall. So I thought that if I try and keep it short it will be much easier to pick it all up.

So when I got the mower out I tried to start it like 5 times and couldn't get it going. (I tried moving the choke and all that but it was hard to figure out which way to move it and then if I was to leave it like that or what) I knew that I had to admit defeat and call in the "Big Guns". I was not thrilled with having to call Him but there was no other way. I knew that he was first going to make fun of me and then going to say, "I can't believe you don't know how.". And I also didn't really want to admit that I was going to do it because once I do it then he is going to make me do it all the time. I don't know maybe I should just do it once a week but I don't want to. (but does anyone, really?)

After getting the mower going I mowed half the yard and realized that I wasn't holding down the lever to make it "drive". Here I was actually pushing the thing when I could have just been steering. Needless to say that the second half of it went much faster.

By then I was on a roll and kept going, I cleaned the patio off too. Ours seems to get so dirty. Mostly because the do has a hole that she digs right next to it and then it blows all over. Soon I will fill it and the grass will grow over it. Until then, children, don't fall in the hole.

Now that its all done it feels so nice and fun out there. The kids are out there right now. (they are never out there)

There is a first time for Everything

I guess. I have never actually done this before.

I always washed this with the reds. Never had a problem until today and I think that the items pictured below were the culprits.

I thought that I had washed these once before but apparently not. Oh, well. He was probably getting to big for it anyway. And Little D's neckline of this shirt is now pink too. But I know that he was too big for this one.

BTW

I was a part of my first garage sale the other day and earned a little extra cash. My friends neighborhood was having one and asked me if I had some things to add. So that is why I cleaned out the attic. After we packed up the unwanted items and headed home I saw a sign on the entry to the neighborhood that read "Block Garage Sale"!

So I had just hauled all this stuff over to my friends and back when I could have just stuck it in the driveway. Why was I not informed? Oh well no big deal. It was more fun to sit there with a friend than to sit by myself anyway.

I plan to take all the "unwanteds" to the Goodwill some time. Hopefully it doesn't sit there for years until the next garage sale.

Cleaning Out!

I cleaned out the attic today. Found some interesting things up there. First I found an ice cream maker that I thought we had, but could never find. Then I found all these board games. We have 2 of a lot of games. Mostly because they were in the attic and forgot we had them. Some of the ones in the attic still have the plastic on the box. Never been opened. But the funniest thing I found was A box labeled Bathroom Misc.

Now I had seen this box a couple of times up there but it was so heavy, I gave up trying to get it out. But today I was determined to see what was in that box. I knew that I wouldn't be able to get it down, so when I was able to pull it close enough to me to get it opened I was excited. I opened it and this is what I found.


I was like What?

There were 16 bottles of perfume/cologne/body sprays,

8 bottles of sunscreen, Like 5 different lotions,

6 different shower gels,

A bunch of baby lotions and shampoos, Epsom salts, Empty bottles, Toilet bowl cleaner, and other misc. things.

I have no idea why this box was put in the attic. It was clearly labeled Bathroom. When we moved in why didn't we put all that stuff under the counter where it belonged. Instead 6 years later we have it taking up space in the attic. Well at least we did. I have thrown away some of it and the usable stuff I kept and put under the sink where it will probably stay for 6 more years. Well, hopefully not. Hopefully I use it.

Lost Treasures!

So while clearing a space for the baby clothes in the attic I was wondering what was in all the boxes up there anyway. I opened 3 while I was up there and was totally surprised! I found one was full of dishes like 2 casserole dishes, 2 bread pans, 3 cake pans, a set of tart pans, a snow cone maker, a little food processor, and a nice set of glass serving bowls. Not to mention in the other boxes were stuffed with candles and towels and stuffed animals!

I have no idea what I am keeping all this stuff for, so I will probably be having a garage sale in the near future.

There are 2 big suitcases up there that I'm sure that there is stuff inside. I didn't get them down because I am terrified of spiders and I just knew that there were probably spiders on those. They were the closest things to the wall. So maybe one day I will get someone to go up there and look for me. It will be just my luck that once they do they will find that all that is in there are BABY CLOTHES!!!! Maybe I will be lucky and it will be clothes for me. And they will miraculously fit me too!
